Since, a lots of work and strenuous activity is carried on daily, the need for proper diet is strongly felt. Fried or junk food can appease your hunger, but its nutrient value is zero. It can result in weight gain which in turns put a lot of pressure on the heart. During old age, a person may be exposed to many diseases. The old age problems can be somewhat diverted if a person has taken care of his health in his youth. Good exercise is necessary to digest the food properly. If the food remains undigested, it can lead to gastric troubles with fat accumulation.

Nutrition If one sticks to the diet chart which has proportions of every food group, he can maintain good health with more improved metal health. Nutrient dense foods include dark green vegetables, low fat meat, fish, and low fat dairy and even fortified foods. Energy dense, nutrient-poor foods include things that are high in sugar and fat such as refined white breads, pasta and pastries, processed lunch meats, ice cream, candy, soda, potato chips, corn chips and junk food in general. Choosing nutrient dense foods at the grocery store is pretty easy if you stay in the perimeter where the produce, fresh meats, low fat dairy and bakery goods are found. Choosing a wrong diet plan can result in various diseases and they can increase the cholesterol and sugar contents in the body. If you want to stay smart and fit for a long time, take care of your diet.
