Posture is the way we carry our body. Posture is basically the body position. When we stand, sit or kneel, we usually have to make particular posture of our body or bear the body. Posture is the emergent alignment of the body that remains constant in the underlying structure and unity across in different forms of human positions. It is basically concerned with the unconscious and stable structural disposition of the body framework attained across over a long period of continuous body movements and patterns. Human body is made up of muscles which have to be straightened and stretched to form a particular position. While standing, we must make a straight angle so that our body is erect from heel. Our face should be straightened towards the front.
While kneeling, the position of the legs must be parallel. Similarly while sleeping also; we must lie down on the bed with the back resting on the bed. Putting an arm beneath the head also makes an imperfect posture. When we suddenly get up from the bed, bent imperfectly or stand up immediately from the bed, our body parts might face a jerk. Our muscles might be in a resting position, so any jerk can result in sprains.Imperfect posture can be the result of excessive body weight also. When a person is obese, he generally finds difficulty in carrying the body weight. Posture erection is very essential. There are various methods of posture erection. Self practice can help a lot in maintaining a correct posture. You can take the advice of others. Put a book on your head and walk straight. It can improve the way you carry yourself.
Good posture involves training your body to stand, walk, sit and lie in positions where the least strain is placed on supporting muscles and ligaments during movement or weight-bearing activities. Proper posture keeps bones and joints in the correct alignment so that muscles are being used properly. It helps decrease the abnormal wearing of joint surfaces that could result in arthritis. It decreases the stress on the ligaments holding the joints of the spine together. It prevents the spine from becoming fixed in abnormal positions. It reduces fatigue because muscles are being used more efficiently, allowing the body to use less energy.
Further prevents strain or overuse problems. Backache and muscular pain are reduced.
